In the Cuypers House’s new permanent exhibition, you can feel and experience Pierre Cuypers’ passion, no matter where you are in “his” home. For the museum, this redesign was also the perfect opportunity to restore the atmosphere and experience of the Cuypers family’s former living room. The final result is now on display in the “At Home with Cuypers” room.
A successful crowdfunding campaign made it possible to once again reveal the polychrome “Cuypers Ceiling” to the public. In total, €17,510 was donated by 108 contributors within six weeks.
The reconstruction was carried out in early 2020 by Claudia Junge of the Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg and students from the “Decorative and Restoration Painting” program at SintLucas in Boxtel. RGB Media from Roermond produced a film documentary of the entire process as part of their sponsorship.
