At the Cuypershuis, you can discover world-renowned designers from the Belgian region! With the exhibition FORM, the museum presents a unique showcase of Belgian-Limburg design from the past 25 years. The common thread running through the exhibition is the book “We are Wanderful.”
Ten designers showcased through images and stories
The exhibition introduces visitors to local and international design in an accessible way. You’ll find stories about porcelain by Pieter Stockmans or a chair from Bram Boo’s Gypsy Things collection. But it also features objects that aren’t immediately associated with design. Such as the bicycle route network, an ingenious idea by Hugo Bollen. He received a Dutch award for functional design for this in 2013.

The selection of design objects was guided by the ten principles of “good design” formulated by German industrial designer Dieter Ram. The Cuypershuis provides an explanation of the design processes and displays photographs of the birthplaces of the featured designers. The book “We are Wanderful” is also open to the relevant chapter, allowing visitors to delve into the interviews and portraits.

The book “We are Wanderful,” published by Lannoo, is available for purchase in the museum shop for €49.99. The publication, which is mostly in English, comprises 400 pages and serves as a unique reference work on (inter)national design, with a special focus, of course, on Belgian-Limburg design.
