What will you be doing?
Bring stories to life
At the Cuypershuis, everything revolves around stories—about architecture, craftsmanship, and inspiration. As a Project Coordinator, you’ll help bring those stories to life through exhibitions, educational projects, and collaborations with schools and partners in the city. Your responsibilities will include:
- You’ll be responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing the implementation of exhibitions, educational, and participatory projects, under the guidance of the curator, who will serve as the project leader;
- To this end, you will draw up project plans in collaboration with the curator;
- You will work closely with your colleagues on the team;
- You will oversee collaboration with schools, cultural partners, and neighborhood initiatives. You will monitor the planning and quality of projects during implementation, as well as the associated protocols and rules;
- You are hands-on and not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get to work. You have experience handling collection items such as those found in our museum;
- During project implementation, you’ll be a driving force and know how to keep your team motivated;
- You contribute ideas for public activities and new ways to engage visitors.
What do we expect?
- HBO/WO level of work and thinking, preferably in cultural management, heritage, or communication;
- Experience with project coordination in the cultural or educational sector, preferably in a museum setting;
- Experience handling a wide variety of museum objects;
- Experience with budgeting and budget management;
- Experience with digital tools, such as MS Teams;
- You are creative, organized, and a strong team player;
- You can switch seamlessly between planning, content development, and execution;
- An affinity for participation, education, and culture.
What can you expect?
- A gross monthly salary between €3,824.00 and €5,624.00 (scale 10) based on a 36-hour workweek (effective July 1, 2026);
- Good fringe benefits, including overtime pay scales, necessary IT equipment, travel expense reimbursement, and the Individual Choice Budget (ICB). The Individual Choice Budget (IKB) amounts to 17.05% of your gross annual salary and can be used, for example, to purchase additional days off;
- We value personal and professional development: You can take advantage of our Roermond Academy and extensive training opportunities;
- A flexible work environment and work hours;
- Excellent pension accrual with ABP under the revised pension system, including an additional safety net in the event of death or disability;
- Positive experiences from your future colleagues: Employees at the Municipality of Roermond report, among other things, autonomy, social safety, a positive feedback culture, diversity, and inclusion (MTO 2024);
- An active Young Civil Servants Network (JAN), which organizes various activities and training sessions. A network that connects, inspires, and supports young professionals—so they feel at home, can grow, and enjoy contributing to a forward-thinking municipality.
Where will you work?
Roermond is a city of ambition, drive, and connection. A historic city for young and old alike, where people look out for one another, with a thriving economy in retail, leisure, and industry, and where everyone works together toward sustainable development. As a “rainbow city,” we stand for an inclusive society. We also value this diversity within our own organization. Different perspectives, backgrounds, and insights enhance the intellectual capacity and potential of the municipality of Roermond.
In this way, we aim to best meet the needs of our community. It doesn’t matter where you were born, what you believe in, how old you are, or whom you love. Above all, we’re curious about your drive to make Roermond an even better place. What contribution do you want to make to our Remunj?
You’ll be working in an organization full of challenges. It’s a complex environment with plenty of opportunities. We encourage boldness, entrepreneurship, and collaboration within the City of Roermond. We operate on the basis of trust, with respect as our top priority. We’re moving forward, ready to take on any challenge!
